EASTWOOD'S UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Speedworks Scholarship winner David Eastwood is determined to take care of unfinished business at this weekend’s MaX5 Championship season finale at Silverstone.
Eastwood claimed a sensational pole position on the championship’s previous visit to the home of the British Grand Prix on July 22-23, only to retire on the first lap after being hit by another car at the first corner.
Eastwood, who needs only one strong result out of the two races to secure fifth in the final standings, is eager to make amends in Saturday’s season-finale.
“I’ve got unfinished business with Silverstone,” said Eastwood. “I was gutted to be out on the first lap back in July when I had such a good chance to get a win, and I want to make up for that disappointment big time.
Eastwood is still chasing his first win of the season, although he has already got two pole positions and several podiums to his name. The 20-year-old is confident of being in contention to make the top step of the podium.
“I know that I have the pace around Silverstone and with a couple of the usual front-runners battling for the championship I should have a good chance to finish the season on a high. All I need is not to have the kind of bad luck I had last time!”
