ONE OF MOTORSPORTS TOP COMMENTATORS TO HOST THE SCHOLARSHIP

Speedworks Motorsport is thrilled to announce that Mark Werrell, one of Britains best loved commentators, is attending every round of the scholarship in the capacity of Host! If your a motorsport enthusiast you will have heard one of his commentries at circuits up and down the country, from club racing such as the Max 5 Championship to the British Formula 3 and GT.

He has commentated on the highs and lows of Speedworks for the last two years and knows alot about the team and the scholarship! He will be a great asset to the Scholarship team and can provide valuable advice on interviewing techniques!

GARETH HOWELL TO GIVE RACING MASTERCLASS

British Touring Car Championship star Gareth Howell will attend both days of the first round of the Speedworks Ginetta Scholarship on February 7-8, in place of Mike Jordan who despite having to pull out of the scholarship due to work commitments, remains a firm supporter!

Howell, who has raced alongside BTCC champion Matt Neal at the all-conquering Team Dynamics outfit for the past two seasons, will be on hand to give a racing masterclass and to answer questions on the life of a professional racing driver.

As well as his BTCC experience, Howell knows all about working his way up the racing ranks having made his name in Fiesta racing. His insight into motorsport will be invaluable!

GINETTA RACE CAR SALES HIT AN ALL TIME HIGH

Another indication of the ever improving success of the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship, Ginetta currently have 35 race cars on order with demand still increasing, they've had to set up a new assembly facility to cope with the number of orders! In fact after Autosport International, there were even more orders taken.

"This is definitly the right direction for Speedworks Motorsport to be taking its drivers," Says team boss Christian Dick, "With the involvement of Texaco and the backing of LNT Automotive, Ginetta can only move from strength to strength."

SPEEDWORKS TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW CARS

Saturday saw Speedworks regulars Neil Merry and Dave Jackson take their new Ginetta race cars for their maiden outing on track. Neil had a few teething problems with his but Dave had a trouble free day.

"I love the feel of the car, you are sitting really low down making you feel more than just the driver but a part of the car" enthused Dave "I just know that the car has so much more in it, but as we were just bedding in the cars, I tried to take it easy."

Also on hand was Paul Harvey to check all the data and Dave Parton on the spanners alongside team boss Christian Dick.

BIGGEST EVER GINETTA PRIZE FUND

With the sponsorship of Texaco Havoline has come a massive increase in prize money. The series winner will receive £5000, runner up £2000 and third place £1000. At the race meetings the prize money for 1st is £300, 2nd £200 and 3rd £100. A fantastic incentive!

SYSTEMS TESTING AT OULTON GOES WELL

Despite the weather the Speedworks team tested the Alfano data logging systems at Oulton on Saturday 6th Jan, they had the Scholarship car fitted with the 2007 upgrade kit. Valuable information was gained.

TEXACO GINETTA CHAMPIONSHIP

LNT has completed a deal with Texaco Havoline for the fuel company to act as title sponsor for the 2007 Ginetta Championship. The Championship will now be known as the Texaco Havoline Ginetta Championship. Texaco will be providing control fuel and lubricants for the competitors racing in the series.

2007 RACE CALENDER AMENDED!

The calender has been amended for this season. This now means that we have Donington Park on the calender as the second race meeting of the season. So the first two races will be on home ground for Speedworks! Fantastic!
