SPEEDWORKS TO RUN NEW ADDITION

Last week saw Speedworks take delivery of a 1974 Vintage Racing Corvette. This machine is a reproduction of Tony DeLorenzo / Carter entry in the 1974 Daytona 24hour race. This corvette was raced on the west coast in the late seventies through to the late eighties and was purchased in Colorado and brought to Michigan for restoration in the late nineties.

It will be driven by Speedworks regular, Neil Merry and Team Principal Christian Dick in the Heritage Touring Car rounds as well as the Super GT. The pair are also racing the Sunbeam Tiger in the Masters series. You can catch them in action in the Tiger at Silverstone for the Bentley Drivers Club Meeting on 8th/9th August.

SPEEDWORKS FIELDS GUEST DRIVER

Speedworks Motorsport will be running ex-BTCC racer Charlie Butler-Henderson in the Ginetta G50 Cup at Snetterton in a weeks time. It is Charlies first return to racing in five years, he last competed at the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra in the BTCC in 2004.

Charlie tested the G50 at Snetterton last week and showed plenty of promise. "We tested in the wet and the dry and were on the pace" he said, "if I can get a top 5 finish and keep it tidy I'll be happy."

This will be a one off for 2009 but Charlie is hoping for a full campaign in 2010.
