SILVERSTONE TEST CANCELLED

Silverstone circuit was a white-out today, as a result the exclusive test day was cancelled. Speedworks Motorsport had two cars due to test today, Former Sports 2000 and Alfa Romeo racer Christina Holley was hoping to put the G50 through its paces with a view to contest the European GT4 Championship this year, Speedworks Motorsports regular Tony Hughes was due to test also prior to his season in the G50 Cup.

Christina will now be out in the car tomorrow (23rd Feb) at Oulton Park.

CORVETTE SHAKEDOWN TEST COMPLETE

Christian Dick today completed his maiden test in the recently rebuilt 1973 Corvette at Oulton Park. Circuit was damp in the morning but dried by lunchtime. The car ran with only a few minor teething problems, a successful test which gave the team good direction for the start of the season!

CORVETTE PASSES FIA INSPECTION

Neil Merrys' 1973 Corvette Stingray, a replica of the 1973 works Daytona entry, has been fully rebuilt over the winter by Speedworks Motorsport in order to compete in a number of Historic Race series. Last week saw the car undergo a thorough inspection by an FIA official and it passed with flying colours! The car now has full FIA papers and is being prepped for its maiden shake down test at Oulton Park on Tuesday 16th February by Team Principal Christian Dick. "I am very proud of the work achieved by the team through the winter," said Dick, "Tuesday will be an exciting day for all involved in this masive project."

The car will have its maiden race outing at Snetterton on 10th April, Neil Merry will be partnered once again with Christian Dick.

JONES TO TEST SPEEDWORKS G50

Regular Formula Ford race winner Stuart Jones is looking at a switch to sportscar racing for 2010.

Tomorrow will see him test the Speedworks Motorsport Ginetta G50 at Oulton Park.

Manchester based Jones is aiming to test the water and get a couple of race meetings under his belt this year with ambitions for a full assault in 2011.

TONY HUGHES ON RADIO MANCHESTER

Yesterday evening Speedworks regular Tony Hughes was interviewed live on Radio Manchester by Steve Saul. Tony and Steve discussed how Tonys company Hughes Safety Showers recently received the highly acclaimed Investors in People Gold award and how the company has continued to grow through the recession.
